Addressing the event, PM Phuc ordered his inferiors to focus on nCoV prevention amid rising death toll and infections in China.

He demanded tougher measures to implement directions of the Secretariat and Directive No. 05/CT-TTg, dated January 28 in a more drastic manner and mobilize the entire political system to protect lives and health of citizens.

The PM underlined the necessity to stay vigilant to prevent the spread of nCoV.

As of mid January 30, 7,819 nCoV-infected cases were reported in the world with 170 deaths.

The Ministry of Health (MoH) reported that non Vietnamese citizens or medical staff have been infected. Viet Nam has been treating two Chinese infected patients. 65 suspected people have been tested for nCoV. 32 others have been isolated for treatment and test outcomes.

The MoH formulated 40 quick response teams to support localities in request and prepared four options to respond to the epidemic in four levels.

An online system which is connected by the MoH and 21 hospitals was set up.

The MoH also sent five working groups to inspect localities especially the localities bordering China and propose the PM direct relevant ministries and agencies to continue imposing tourism bans on tourists from areas with confirmed outbreaks of the nCoV./.
