Gov’t chief calls for entrepreneurs' involvement in policy-making process

VGP – Prime Minister called on businessmen to actively participate in improving institutions on economic development in a bid to turn Viet Nam into one of the leading economies in ASEAN and Asia by 2045.

The Government chief stressed the point while addressing a ceremony held on October 13 to mark the 15th anniversary of the Businessmen Day of Viet Nam.

Phuc reiterated that the Government’s consistent policy that economic relationships shall not be criminalized.

He also pledged that the Government will continue creating more favorable business environment, organizing direct dialogues with businesses, and reducing overlapping business inspections.

PM Phuc took the occasion to highlight the role of entrepreneurs throughout the national development process and call on them to join hands to write another success story on strong and wealthy Viet Nam after the country was recognized as a success story on poverty reduction during the past three decades of reform.

Viet Nam has nearly 750,000 businesses and 5.2 million business households. The Government planned to increase the total number of businesses to one million by 2020.

e were more than 102,000 new firms established in the first nine months of the year, with registered charter capital worth over 12 billion VND (517,250 USD) on average, the highest level to date.

The same day, PM Phuc received Ms. Lee Ju Song, Regional Director of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Asia.

Lee spoke highly of the achievements gained by Viet Nam over the past time, the Government’s efforts in developing a business climate conducive to businesses.

Despite rising trade tensions, Viet Nam has made excellent performance in sharpening its competitiveness as the Southeast Asian country jumped 10 notches to 67th out of 141 economies on the 2019 global competitiveness ranking, Lee emphasized./.
