Expecting stronger ties between Viet Nam and the EU, PM Dung suggested the two sides boost cooperation in economics, trade, investment, and tourism.

Viet Nam is sparing no effort to improve its investment environment and is willing to grant preferences to investors from the EU, said Mr. Dung.

The Vietnamese Government chief also asked the two sides to closely work together in first-round negotiations for the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) as well as the realization of the Partnership Cooperation Agreement (PCA).

He expected that the EU will recognize Viet Nam’s market economy and offer more ODA for the country’s infrastructure development, human resource training and response to climate change.

PM Dung also expressed his hope that the EU will always support peace, stability and free maritime navigation in the East Sea.

EC President Herman Van Rompuy confirmed that the Union always wants to deepen its multifaceted cooperation with Viet Nam.

He emphasized that the EU votes for the settlement of all East Sea-related conflicts through peaceful negotiation on the basis of international laws.

The guest hoped that Viet Nam will support the EU to promote relations with other ASEAN countries.
