Speaking at a conference in Ha Noi on Wednesday, Deputy PM Ninh said that the restructuring process must be carried out toward reducing the number of SOEs and improving their efficiency.

Mr. Nguyen Van Ngoc, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Business Sector said that the sector has 32 groups and corporations of which 28 have developed restructuring schemes.

“To be successful, SOEs must be resolved to innovate and improve performance and competitiveness like other economic sectors,” said Deputy PM Ninh.

The restructuring process needs to be strictly controlled in a transparent manner and combined with enhancing administration capacity and technological application, he added.

The Deputy PM said that the Government will continue to perfect legal regulations to ensure the transparency of the restructuring process, including the amendments to the current Law on Enterprises and the Law on State Budget.
