Gov’t approves first construction phase of Long Thanh Int’l Airport
VGP - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc approved the first construction phase of the Long Thanh International Airport project, with estimated capital investment of over VND109,000 billion (nearly US$4.7 billion).

The first phase involves construction of a 4,000m x 75m runway, a system of taxiways and apron, and a 373,000 sq.m terminal with designed capacity of 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tons of cargo annually.
The work is expected to be completed in 2025.
The Long Thanh International Airport, located in the Southern province of Dong Nai, is divided into three construction phases with the last one set to finish in 2050.
Once completed, the US$16 billion airport will be able to handle 100 million passengers per year and help reduce overload at the Tan Son Nhat International Aport in Ho Chi Minh City./.
