The fruits were in early September 25 brought to a fruit wholesale market in Sydney before being sold at shops and markets.

One day ago, the first grown-in-Viet Nam fresh dragon fruits were sold  in  Melbourne city. They were exported to Australia by the Hoang Phat one-member Ltd Co in the southern province of Long An.

After nine years of negotiation, Vietnamese fresh dragon fruits are now available in Australia.

Viet Nam was the first and only country which got permit to ship fresh dragon fruits to Australia.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Thuy, Head of the Viet Nam Trade Office in Australia was quoted as saying that this was a great opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises as good quality dragon fruit was sold at AUD 30 per kilogram (VND$ 540,000).

She noticed enterprises to pay attention to quarantine regulations, quality, food hygiene.

The Viet Nam Trade Office in Australia has worked with the Vietnamese Embassy and Consulate General in Sydney to conduct trade promotion programs on fresh Vietnamese  dragon fruits./.
