French, VN localities boost cooperation

Speaking at the event on cooperation between Vietnamese and French localities, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People’s Committee Pham Thi Thanh Tra stressed that Yen Bai-Val de Marne relations have been expanded to many areas from the two initial fields of health care and clean water, thus helping two sides’ residents gain better understanding about each other’s cultures and peoples.

Collaboration between the two countries’ localities has been deepened, bringing pragmatic outcomes to both sides, she added

President of the General Council of Val-de-Marne Senior Christrian Favier, for his part, highlighted potential for cooperation between the two countries and their localities.

Both sides will continue closely working from now to 2019 through a wide range of projects on water resources, city waste treatment plant construction and Suoi Giang tea development as well as education and tourism.

Over the last 20 years, Yen Bai and Val-de-Marne have cooperated in health care, vocational training, rural development, water supply and waste water treatment, French teaching and mobile bus library.

About VND 9.27 billion (US$415,300) was disbursed for six of the seven joint projects as of June 2016.
