French Cultural Centre opens new branch in Ha Noi

VGP - A new branch of the French Cultural Centre L'Espace has officially opened on the campus of the Ha Noi University of Architecture in Ha Noi, as part of activities to celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and France.

Addressing the event, French Ambassador to Viet Nam Bertrand Lortholary highlighted the great significance of the opening of the centre's branch in the context of the celebration of the International Francophonie Day.

L’Espace Ha Dong is launched right after the France visit of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Nguyen Phu Trong, he noted.

He expressed his hopes that learners of French courses held by the centre will act to foster cultural relations between Viet Nam and France.

Rector of the Ha Noi University of Architecture Le Quan said that the opening of the centre's branch inside the university will create a multicultural environment for students of the facility, facilitate their easy access to the French culture, especially architecture.

Students of the university can also have more opportunities in studying in French universities thanks to the centre, he added.

Mr. Quan pledged that the Ha Noi University of Architecture is always willing to cooperate with the centre in implementing French cultural programmesand activities.

The branch plans to not only teach French but also become a place for meetings  and exchanges, as well as introduce the French culture to Vietnamese people.

On the occasion, the French Cultural Centre L'Espace awarded a prize to the winning students at the Francophone spelling contest, which attracted 55 contestants.

France and Viet Nam and have exchanged and shared experience with each other in culture for a long time, creating a close relationship between the two peoples. The cultural exchanges between the two countries have been increasingly developed.
