Foreign loan for metro line in HN approved
VGP – The Government chief recently approved a €73 million loan funded by the European Investment Bank (EIB) for the pilot construction of Hà Nội’s metro line, section from Nhổn to the Hà Nội Railway station.

The
metro line section extends over 12.5 km and has 12 stations. It will supposedly
serve 200,000 passengers per day.

The
project also covers the construction of a new depot as well as the acquisition
of new rolling stock to operate the line.
The
project will significantly improve Hanoians’ quality of life by increasing their
mobility, alleviating traffic congestion and providing a cleaner and quicker means
of transport than motorbikes and private cars./.
