The consolations and condolences come from China’s Premier Wen Jiabao and FM Yang Jiechi, Singaporean President S.R. Nathan and PM Lee Hsien Loong, Lao PM Bousone Bouphavanh, President of the Cuban Council of State Raul Castro Ruz, UK’s Queen Elizabeth II, German President Horst Hoehler, Luxembourg’s PM Jean Claude Juncker, and the President of the Republic of Maldives.

All foreign leaders expressed their deep sympathy to the victims for their heavy losses and, at the same time, stressed that they stand side by side with the Vietnamese people in this hard time.

They also believed that Việt Nam will soon overcome difficulties and get back on track.

In the afternoon of August 14, Chinese Ambassador to Việt Nam Hu Qianwen sent US $50,000 to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to assist people in the flooded areas.
