Flag hoisting ceremony marks ASEAN’s 49th founding anniversary
VGP – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on August 8 in Ha Noi hosted a flag hoisting ceremony to mark the 49th ASEAN founding anniversary (August 8, 1967-August 8, 2016) and the 21st anniversary of Viet Nam’s accession to the bloc (July 28, 1995-July 28, 2016).

The ceremony witnessed the participation of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung, Deputy Minister of Labour Invalids, and Social Affairs Nguyen Trong Dam, Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung, Moroccan Ambassador El Houcine Fardani, Head of the diplomatic corps in Viet Nam, representatives of ASEAN member countries’ embassies in Ha Noi.
The event has become a honorable practice of all ASEAN member states and its Secretariat with a view to respecting common values and committing to promoting ASEAN spirit of solidarity, friendship, and cooperation.
Since late 2015, the ASEAN Community has functioned on the three pillars of comprehensive integration namely politics-security, economics, culture-society. The bloc has connected closely with respective and regional interests intertwined harmoniously./.
