Five more COVID-19 infection cases confirmed, tally rises to 99

VGP - The Ministry of Health has reported FIVE more COVID-19 infection cases, bringing the total to 99, of whom 17 have fully recovered.

They are the 95th, 96th,97th, 98th, and 99th patient in Viet Nam, including two British nationals.

The 95th patient is 20-year old male student from Ho Chi Minh City's Go Vap district. He studied in France since January 2019 and returned to Ho Chi Minh City on March 18 on AirFrance flight AF258.

Upon his arrival, he got sore throat and was taken to centralized quarantine facility in District 12.

He is being treated at Cu Chi field hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.

The 96th patient is a 21-year old female student from Ho Chi Minh City. She had travelled to Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic and France two weeks before landing in Viet Nam on March 19 on flight EK392.

She was taken to a centralized quarantine dormitory of Ho Chi Minh City National University on March 20 and confirmed having the virus on the following day.

The 97th patient is a British man, aged 34, residing in District 4 in Ho Chi Minh City.

He had been in Malaysia for two weeks before returning to Viet Nam on March 13 on AirAsia flight AK1502.

On March 14, he went to Buddha Bar where the 91st patient also visited the same day.

On March 20, upon learning about the 91st infection case, he went to a clinic in District 1 for medical declaration and was then transferred to Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases for diagnosis and confirmed contracting the virus on the following day.

The 98th patient is also a British man, aged 34, who lives with the aforesaid man in District 4. He flew from Penang, Malaysia to Ho Chi Minh City on March 6 on flight AK1502.

On March 14, he went to Buddha Bar with the 97th patient.

On March 20, upon learning about the 91st infection case, he went to a clinic in District 1 for medical declaration and was then taken to Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases for diagnosis and confirmed contracting the virus on the following day.

The 99th patient is a Vietnamese man, aged 29, residing in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City.

On March 17, he took AirFrance flight AF258 from Paris, France to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, he was taken to a centralized quarantine facility in District 12 and confirming infectecting the virus on March 21.

All the current 77 COVID-19 patients have been reported since March 6, according to the Ministry of Health./.
