Fishery sector eyes US$ 9 billion export turnover
VGP – Total overseas shipment of aquatic products hit nearly 6.7 million tons, representing a year-on-year growth of 5.3%, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development reported.

In the first ten months, fishery exports brought back US$ 7.06 billion of turnover, accounting for 21.3% of the agricultural sector. The sector targeted to earn US$ 9 billion of aquatic export turnover in 2019.
The MARD also reported that in the first ten months, the amount of aquatic exploitation was 3.16 million tons, representing a year-on-year growth of 4.4% and aquatic cultivation was 3.54 million, (year-on-year growth of 6.2%).
The ministry was convinced that FTAs would create the foundation for enterprises to raise competitiveness./.
