First transport project to be built under PPP model

The first project with total capital of over VND 23 trillion is a critical link to national North-South Expressway corridor, connecting with Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay as its beginning point and running to Ba Bau, Binh Thuan on National Highway No 1 as its ending point.

The total length is about 100 kilometers. When completed, this project will shorten the distance and reduce travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to the nearby provinces and tourist centres in the central and coastal areas.

The Dau Giay – Phan Thiet expressway is the first pilot project to be executed under the Public – Private Partnership (PPP) mechanism. It  undertaken in accordance with international standards, thus meeting the strict criteria of technical design and environmental, social economics as required by the World Bank and Vietnam government.

The project will be in operation in 2014.
