First solar power plant in Ninh Thuan produces electricity

BP Solar 1 power plant, worth VND1,315 billion has the designed capacity of 64MWp and is expected to produce 74.45 million KWh per year. 

The plant started construction in June 2018 on the area of more than 62 ha. 

Chairman of Ninh Thuan Province’s People’s Committee Luu Xuan Vinh expected that other solar power projects in the province will be soon completed and join the national power grid, making the province become the center of the nation’s renewable energy center. 

Currently, as many as 25 solar power plants have been approved by the PM and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to be listed in the electricity development plan. 

Accordingly, by 2030, the province will attract more investment in solar power projects with the total capacity of 3,912 MW.
