First nanotechnology products made in VN

VGP – The “made-in-Việt Nam” carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were successfully produced and sold 50% lower than their foreign corresponding items, opening a promising future for hi-tech research and application in Việt Nam.

The Institute of Materials Science (IMS) in Hà Nội and the Hồ Chí Minh City Hi-tech Park are the first organizations successfully producing CNTs for sale in Việt Nam.

So far, about 100-300g of CNTs with the purity of 95% is produced per day at the laboratory scale.

Vietnamese CNTs charges only US $0.6 per gram instead of the price US $1 on average in the world.

This reason is that Vietnamese producers make use of vegetal materials, such as sugar-cane, gourd, and nulgar bamboo, which are abundant throughout the country.

In the coming time, the Vietnamese nano producers are approaching new possible applications of CNTs, including abrasion-resistant rubber, solid plating, and radar wave-absorbing epoxy materials.

In addition, researchers have succeeded in combining big-diameter nanotubes in order to filter blood or biological water.

Nanotechnology is widely recognized as a technological revolution in the 21st century. Carbon nano is famous for its strength, durability, and electrical and heat conductibility.
