At first, the system will be deployed at seaports of Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria-Vung Tau, according to the Viet Nam Customs.

In the first stage, nine companies, including SITC Viet Nam, NYK Line Viet Nam, Vietfrancht, Hanjin Shipping Viet Nam, SP Shipping, and Hoyer Transport Viet Nam, were selected to join the system.

These companies are requested to send the NSW Portal 12 types of papers such as lists of sailors and clients, commodity declaration and plant quarantine forms in stead of coming to different agencies to conduct administrative procedures.

The NSW system is part of the country’s effort to realize commitments to an ASEAN Single Window (ASW), said Deputy Finance Minister Do Hoang Tuan Anh.

The Ministries of Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Rural Development, Health, Natural Resources and Environmental, National Defense, and Public Security will be the next to connect to the NSW in a bid to reduce administrative procedures, Deputy Minister Vu Van Ninh ordered.

Earlier this year, the Government issued Resolution 19 on major tasks and solutions for improving the business environment and national competitiveness. Under the Resolution, the Government plans to simplify processes, dossiers and procedures related to export, import and customs and reduce the time for import and export clearance to the average of the ASEAN-6 countries (the average time for export clearance in the ASEAN-6 countries is 14 days and import clearance is 13 days)./.
