First Vietnamese reporter infected with COVID-19, total rises to 188

VGP – The Ministry of Health has confirmed 9 more COVID-19 infection cases, bringing the patient tally to 188.

The new patients include two cases linked to Bach Mai Hospital and 4 cases returned to Viet Nam from foreign countries.

Patient 180 is a 27 year old female student from My Duc District, Ha Noi.

She was passenger on flight TG564 from France to Viet Nam on March 20.

Patient 181 is a 33-year old man from Ha Noi. He returned to Viet Nam on March 20 from Thailand on flight TG564.

Patient 182 is a 19-year old female student from Ha Noi.

She flew from Switzerland to Viet Nam on March 20 after transiting in Thailand.

All of the above patients are being treated in Ninh Binh Province with their health have been reportedly in stable conditions.

Patient 183 is a 43-year old female reporter residing in Cau Giay District, Ha Noi. She had interviewed patient No. 148 on March 12.

Patient 184  is a 43-year old woman from Phuc Yen District of the northern province of Vinh Phuc.

She landed in Noi Bai International Airport on March 25 on flight SU290 from Russia.

Patient 185 is a 38-year old man from Hoai Duc District, Ha Noi.

He had been a patient at Ha Noi’s Bach Mai Hospital until March 19 when he was discharged from the hospital.

On March 24, he developed cough and was confirmed having the virus on Sunday.

Patient 186 is a 52-year old French woman who is wife of patient numbered 76. The pair landed in Tan Son Nhat International Airport on March 10.

From March 10-16, the woman traveled from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho, Hoi An and Hue before arriving in Ninh Binh Province where she was tested positive for the virus.

Patient 187 is an American man, aged 30, living in Quang An, Tay Ho, Ha Noi.

He landed in Noi Bai International Airport on March 13 on flight VN0054.

He isolated himself at home from March 13-19 and was in close contact with four Vietnamese and five foreigners in the same place of residence.

Patient 188 is a 44 year-old woman from My Duc District, Ha Noi.

She is employee of Truong Sinh Company which provides food and logistics services to the Bach Mai Hospital.

All of the above six patients are being treated at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

The Ministry of Health has also updated that 25 out of the current 188 COVID-19 patients have recovered and exited hospitals./.
