This is the first inbound commercial flight after nearly four months of suspension due to resurgence of COVID-19 in Viet Nam.

All the passengers were required to have COVID-19 negative certificates three days before departure, register concentrated sites for quarantine, download contact tracking apps, and make health declaration before entry.

Upon their arrivals to Viet Nam, each entrant got a viral test. If the test result is positive, he/she will be hospitalized for treatment of COVID-19.

In case of negative result, he/she will be quarantined at registered hotels and receive second test on the sixth day after entry or immediately after displaying suspected symptoms.

After the 14-day mandatory quarantine period, they shall be placed under medical surveillance at their places of residence for another 14 days.

The crew members shall undergo 14-day mandatory quarantine period and aircraft is disinfected.

The Government of Viet Nam decided to temporarily halt all inbound flights from December 1, 2020, except for repatriation flights, one day after the Ministry of Health confirmed the first community infection case of COVID-19 (patient numbered 1,347), ending a streak of 88 consecutive days without a single local infection.

Last week, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc urged relevant ministries and agencies to consider gradual resumption of international flights and stay prepared for application of “vaccination passports” as the country has effectively managed the third wave of local transmissions.

As of 6:00 am on March 24, Viet Nam confirmed 2,576 COVID-19 cases, including 2,265 recoveries and 35 fatalities./.
