Financial aid for construction of Ta Lung-Shuikou 2 Bridge approved

VGP – Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue recently approved a central budget amount to aid the northern province of Cao Bang to construct Ta Lung-Shuikou 2 Bridge.

September 22, 2016 3:39 PM GMT+7

He asked the provincial People’s Committee to urgently process all investment procedures of the project as stipulated in the Law on Public Investment and relevant instructive documents, and assigned the Ministry of Planning and Investment to embrace them in the 2016-2020 middle-term public investment plan for implementation.

The Ministry of Transport was responsible for guiding the Cao Bang provincial People’s Committee to carry out the investment formalities in accordance with the government’s Resolution No. 129/NQ-CP dated December 24, 2013.

According to the provincial People’s Committee, trade activities between Viet Nam and China through Ta Lung border gate have increased rapidly in recent years. Along the National Highway 3 section linking Bac Kan province and Cao Bang’s Ta Lung border gate, busy traffic occurs regularly with a lot of heavy trucks and container trucks transporting goods for imports and exports.

Cao Bang reported to the government and the Transport Ministry on the idea of building Ta Lung-Shuikou 2 Bridge in Phuc Hoa district’s Ta Lung border gate and has already received the approval from the Prime Minister.

On October 13, 2013, the governments of Viet Nam and China signed an agreement on the construction of Ta Lung-Shuikou 2 Bridge and a protocol on simplification of exit and entry procedures for workers, transport vehicles, construction equipment and building materials at Ta Lung and Shuikou border gates, aiming to facilitate the implementation of the project.
