Finance Minister Dinh Tien Dung Assigned As Ha Noi Party Committee Secretary

VGP - Politburo member and Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung has been assigned by the Political Bureau as Secretary of Ha Noi Municipal Party Committee.

Dung, aged 60, took over the new role from his predecessor Vuong Dinh Hue who had been elected as new Chairman of the National Assembly on March 31.

Speaking at a ceremony to announce the Politburo’s decision, Dung promised to do his utmost to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party and State and people in the capital city.

He also pledged to promote solidarity among the capital’s political system in order to successfully realize the Resolution of the 17^th Ha Noi Party Congress and the Resolution adopted at the 13^th National Party Congress.

Dung, a native of Ninh Binh Province, served as former Deputy Minister of Construction (from 2003-2008), Deputy Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People’s Committee (from 2008-2010), Secretary of Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee (from 2010-2011), Chief of the State Audit of Viet Nam (from 2011-2013) and Minister of Finance (from 2013-present).

Dung is a member of the Party Central Committee in the 11th, 12th, 13th tenures, and a deputy to the 14th-tenure National Assembly. He was elected as a member of the Political Bureau at the 13^th National Party Congress./.
