Film week celebrates ASEAN Chairmanship Year 2020
VGP - The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a decision to approve the organisation of the ASEAN Film Week in celebration of Viet Nam’s ASEAN Chairmanship this year.

A film week in celebration of ASEAN Chairmanship Year 2020 will introduce outstanding works, showing the cultural identity, characteristics and natural beauty, social life and people of ASEAN member countries.
The activities also aim to build a peaceful, stable, dynamic, united and prosperous ASEAN community, which will strengthen mutual understanding and pave the way for economic cooperation.
In addition, the event aims to raise the role and position of Viet Nam in the community as well as affirm the country’s commitment to realizing peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
The film week is scheduled to be held in Ha Noi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City with the aim of promoting the fine values of people in the ASEAN Community.
Each ASEAN country will select one film and submit it to the ASEAN Film Week 2020. The selected films will be translated into Vietnamese and submitted to an evaluation council.
It is expected that the week will be held in June or July 2020, subject to change depending on the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic./.
