The event drew the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Hoàng Trung Hải, Japanese Ambassador to Việt Nam Yasuaki Tamizaki, and Chairman and Director of the Kansai Electric Power Shosuke Mori.

The forum offered a valuable opportunity for the two sides to discuss policy and investment potentials and seek specific measures to lure more investment for the East-West Corridor and surrounding areas in Central Việt Nam, said Deputy Prime Minister Hải.

The Deputy Prime Minister suggested the forum focus on dialogues to help Japanese investors understand and contribute to the making of policies on infrastructure development, especially transport infrastructure in the central region.

This year, the forum focused on two topics namely “Việt Nam-Kansai cooperation in infrastructure development in Việt Nam in general and the East-West Corridor in particular” and “Investment promotion of Kansai enterprises in manufacturing and auxiliary industries especially in the Central Việt Nam’.

It aimed to help strengthen and develop Việt Nam’s central role of connectivity with other ASEAN countries via the East-West economic corridor.

The economic relations between Việt Nam and Kansai have flourished over the past time thank to Việt Nam’s rising demand for investment attraction for its industrialization course and also owing to efforts to seek business opportunities by Japanese investors in general and those in Kansai in particular.

At presence, Kansai enterprises are eager for expanding business overseas and Việt Nam is featured as one of the most advantageous and potential markets.

Kansai is the second largest economic, industrial and service hub in Japan after Tokyo. The Japanese locality is home to a large number of famous manufacturing and service corporations like Panasonic, Sharp, Sanyo, Hitachi Zosen, Sumitomo Metal and Takashimaya./.
