The Government leader made the call at the “Meet Europe 2018” conference, held by the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ha Noi on May 25 under the support of the European Chamber of Commerce in Viet Nam (EuroCham).

He stated that European partners have become close companions of Viet Nam during its 30 years of Doi Moi (Reforms), development, and integration.

Introducing Viet Nam’s socio-economic situation, PM Phuc said that Viet Nam is exerting efforts to build a facilitative Government of action and integrity in service of the people and enterprises.

He requested leaders of ministries, sectors, and localities to listen to and facilitate the settlement of the difficulties raised by European partners and companies in their business activities in Viet Nam.

Addressing the event, Ambassador Bruno Angelet, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Viet Nam, affirmed that the “Meet Europe 2018” conference would help to create new relationships and business opportunities between European companies and Vietnamese localities, in addition to attracting new investment resources.

He suggested Viet Nam and the EU create a favorable environment and put forward positive cooperation signals in order to facilitate the effective enforcement of the Viet Nam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), as the document is scheduled to be signed later this year.

At the conference, participating businesses had the chance to directly meet with leaders of over 30 Vietnamese cities and provinces. More than 70 meetings between enterprises and government agencies were held during the event, aiming to create new business opportunities and facilitate investment.
