The BCI scored 84 points, jumping six notches in Q2, the most positive performance over the last 18 months.

The EuroCham business community was upbeat about business prospects. Up to 70% of businesses were optimistic about their business situation. Specifically, 65% described it as “good”; and 12% as “excellent.”

EuroCham members were also upbeat about macro-economic prospects in which 57% of respondents said “stable and improved”; 34% said “unchanged;” only 10% said “depression.”

Over a half of businesses said that they would raise “remarkably” or “slightly” the number of human resources.

The BCI showed Viet Nam is open for business as an attractive trade and investment destination, Nicolas Audier, co-chairman of EuroCham.

“The EU-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) should be ratified soon. On the cusp of this historic deal, which will boost trade and investment on both sides, we hope this positive message from EuroCham and its members will inspire the government to continue opening its markets to foreign investment and improving its trade and investment environment”./.
