EuroCham: VN’s business climate index gets highest mark since 2016

VGP – The Business Climate Index (BCI) of Viet Nam in the fourth quarter of 2018 reached 84 points, the highest figure recorded since the end of 2016, according to the announcement of the European Chamber of Commerce in Viet Nam (EuroCham) on March 14.

The White Book 2019 made debut on March 14, focusing on two crucial issues of Viet Nam’s next development steps, the EU-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the fourth industrial revolution.

Over the recent three decades, the Vietnamese Government has  succeeded in transforming Viet Nam from an underdeveloped nation to a middle-income, modern and fast-growing nation, said Co-Chairman EuroCham Nicolas Audier.

Mr. Denis Brunetti, Co-Chairman EuroCham asserted: “Our publication is designed to help Việt Nam adapt to the new opportunities that the Fourth Industrial Revolution will bring, and in so doing, make the country increasingly more competitive in the global economy and more attractive to international trade and investment”.

The White Book is EuroCham’s flagship annual publication, bringing together the insights and recommendations of the chamber’s over one thousand members. The publication includes 20 chapters, covering sectors and industries from healthcare to wines & spirits, and ICT to human resources & training.

In the White Book, EuroCham members raise the most important issues to their business operations, and highlight specific actions that the Government could take to improve Vietnam’s business environment and legal framework, increase trade and investment from Europe and make the country even more competitive in the global marketplace.
