The experiment aims at assessing the fuel’s marketability before putting it into mass production.

Leaders of PVB revealed that the selling price of Ethanol E5 is lower than gasoline A92.

The plan will be realized by the PetroVietnam Oil Corporation (PVOil), Northern PetroVietnam Oil and Gas Company (PVOil North) and some petroleum companies operating in the six localities.

The project is part of the Government’s master plan for bio-fuel development to 2015, with visions to 2025.

PVB has implemented some projects on growing cassava and sugar cane in Tam Nông District of the northern province of Phú Thọ in order to ensure the sufficient supplies of input materials for the production of 100,000 cubic meters of Ethanol E5 per year.

Ethanol E5 produced by PVB is a mixture of 95% gasoline A92 and 5% Ethanol 99.7%.
