The PM has just approved the Plan on Environment Services Development to 2020 in order to provide environment protecting services to industries and localities, increase the contributions from the service sector to the national economy, generate more jobs and promote sustainable development.

The Plan puts forth three major tasks. First, to set up a complete system of mechanisms, policies and legal documents on environment services, including a strategy on environment services development to 2020 and with visions to 2030.

Second, to develop powerful environment service enterprises which can deal with big environmental issues; and to form and run an environment service market in Việt Nam in line with the market economy and WTO regulations.

Third, to nurture human resource for environment services.

The State pledges to offer incentives and preferential conditions for the development of environment services, especially in terms of land, capital, credit and taxation.

At the same time, the State will mobilize all resources at home and abroad for the development of environment services.

After joining WTO, Việt Nam pledges to open its environment service market in five branches: sewage treating service; garbage treating service; exhaust cleaning service; noise treating service; and environment impact assessing service.
