Ensuring safety for Vietnamese in eastern Ukraine

VGP – Viet Nam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs directed the Embassy in Ukraine to closely follow and launch measures to protect overseas Vietnamese in Ukraine due to new complex happenings in the eastern Ukraine.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Le Hai Binh on January 28 made that statement to respond to the question about the situations of the Vietnamese community in the eastern Ukraine.

There has been no report of Vietnamese casualties in this area, he added.

Viet Nam’s Embassy in Ukraine will take measures to ensure safety for people and assets, promptly evacuate those living in dangerous areas, provide assistance in unexpected circumstances and help Vietnamese to stabilize their lives, and take them home if necessary.
