EU provides financial aid for storm Damrey-hit residents

VGP - The European Commission has provided humanitarian aid worth € 200,000 to assist victims in Viet Nam’s central and south central regions affected by typhoon Damrey in November, said the European Union delegation in Viet Nam on December 13.

The aid, part of the assistance of the European Union to the disaster relief emergency fund under the international federation of red cross and red crescent societies, helped the viet nam red cross society deliver necessities to victims.

the most affected families have received cash to meet their basic needs and maintain their livelihoods. activities to prevent diseases such as dengue fever, malaria and typhoid fever have also been launched.

typhoon damrey hit viet nam on november 4, affecting more than 4.3 million people. It was estimated at 400,000 victims need urgent humanitarian assistance./.
