The meeting was chaired by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and saw the participation of members of the report’s drafting board, including State President Truong Tan Sang, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, Politburo members and PCC Secretaries.

Politburo member Dinh The Huynh, also PCC secretary, head of the PCC Commission for Communication and Education and deputy head of the Party report’s drafting committee, delivered a report with a detailed outline and plan on composing the Party’s report.

The drafting board’s members discussed and contributed ideas about the 12th Party Congress’ subjects and directive guidelines, as well as the political report’s contents and structure.

Addressing the meeting, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong praised the draft report’s preparation, saying that the 12th Party Congress’ content, theme and guidelines should be identified basing on both domestic and international situations, which remain changeable, complicated and unpredictable.

The Party chief underlined that the Congress theme, as well as the political report’s subject, is the ideological guideline showcasing the most fundamental targets and key tasks in the 12th tenure, helping develop documents for the Congress.

The participants initially agreed with the PCC’s suggestions on the Congress theme and it would be further studied.

The political report should be presented systematically, appropriately and scientifically, ensuring coherence and avoiding duplication, General Secretary Trong said./.
