Dong Nai targets US$12 bln from exports

To the end, the provincial Industry and Trade Department has developed an action plan focusing on tasks and solutions to assist enterprises clear bad debts and expand markets.

The department has improved the quality of information related to its market forecast and updated policies on import-export activities.

It is providing businesses with better and more comprehensive information pertaining to the Free Trade Agreements (FTA) negotiations between Viet Nam and other nations, said Director of the Department Le Van Danh said.

In the future, the department plans to organize a delegation of businesses which wish to penetrate into such markets as Cambodia, Germany, Dubai, Ukraine, Russia, Myanmar, the US, ASEAN, India and China.

Local businesses will organize trade promotion events with foreign partners operating in the province and Ho Chi Minh City.

In 2013, Dong Nai raked in over US$10.8 billion from exports, up 9.4% from a year ago.

The highest export earnings came from the US (US$3.1 billion), followed by Japan (nearly US$1.2 billion) and China (more than US$1 billion).
