In 2012, Dong Nai province has invested over VND 1,500 billion in the construction of new rural areas. Some 32 out of the 126 communes have approved the planning of new rural commune construction and 35 out of the 133 communes have approved the project to develop new rural communes.

The regular and continual transfer of scientific and technical advances has contributed to increasing production value per one hectare of farming land in 2012 to over VND77 million; and average income per capita to VND24.8 million /person/year.

The province has also paid attention to the poverty reduction, reducing the 6.25% of poor households in 2011 to 3.49% by the end of 2012./.
