The conference on promoting investment in five central localities of Đà Nẵng, Thừa Thiên–Huế, Quảng Nam, Quảng Ngãi and Bình Định attracted representatives of many foreign and domestic enterprises.

“The conference is a valuable opportunity for managers and investors to meet, exchange and put forth measures to tap attractive investment potentials of the central region,” the Deputy PM said.

The key economic zone in Central Việt Nam, located within the influential areas of the West-East Economic Corridor and the Greater Mekong Sub-region, is endowed with great advantages. It will see the development of many major urban centers - Huế, Chân Mây, Đà Nẵng, Hội An, Tam Kỳ, Vạn Tường, Quảng Ngãi, and Quy Nhơn – which form a coastal urban chain in the near future. The development of deep-water seaports, international entrepots and seafood facilities here will help to expand the zone’s economic space.

The central region also possesses great potentials for tourism development thanks to its marine and forest resources and four world heritages - the ancient capital of Huế, Huế royal music, the ancient town of Hội An and the Champa ancient center of Mỹ Sơn.

At the conference, investors and managers reached a high consensus on development orientations and necessary conditions for the zone’s investment and business environment.

It is necessary to mobilize sources to develop infrastructure through proper legal frameworks. The Ministry of Planning and Investment is building public-private partnership models which are expected to be piloted here in the coming time.

Meanwhile, investors proposed local authorities tap tourism advantages by establishing international-scale tourist centers.
