The economic forum saw the participation of Qatari Minister of Economics and Trade Qatar Sheikh Ahmed Bin Jasim Bin Mohamed Al Thani; representatives of Vietnamese and Qatari ministries and local leaders and hundreds of respective businessmen.

According to Mr. Phuc, the political, socio-economic stability has supported Viet Nam's deeply regional and global integration.

The country, said Mr. Phuc, has accelerated the economic restructuring, the transformation of growth model, and the perfection of legal system towards market regulations.

With the successful formulation of an ASEAN Community in 2015, Viet Nam would not only serve as an important gateway of the Mekong Sub-region but also a significant bridge to connect ASEAN economies and spur business opportunities between the ASEAN member states and their Middle East peers.

In addition, Viet Nam is also an imperative chain of a large economic network covering 55 countries thanks to its commitments with the World Trade Organization and the 14 signed FTAs. These conditions are expected to offer vast business opportunities for foreign players in Viet Nam, said Mr. Phuc.

For his part, the Qatari Minister pledged to shake hands with Viet Nam to raise the two-way trade ties to US$ 1 billion in the coming years.

Qatari leading corporations took the occasion to express their interest in business chances in Viet Nam especially in the areas of agriculture, real estate and export of guest workers.

On this occasion, a gala dinner was held with a special Vietnamese art performance and gastronomy./.
