Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh receives Thai Ambassador to Viet Nam Tanee Sangrat whose term in office just expires, Ha Noi, June 24 , 2019

At the reception, Ambassador Tanee Sangrat pledged to continue nurturing the economic and commercial linkages between the two nations.

In the first five months of 2019, Viet Nam received 216,000 tourists from Thailand, nearly 50% higher than that of the same period last year.

He said Thailand is now the 8th largest foreign investor in Viet Nam and its investment to Viet Nam is expected to be expanded in the coming time with a number of projects from SCG, Thaibev and Amata.

In turn, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh highly spoke of the diplomat’s contributions to strengthening the friendly and traditional ties between Viet Nam and Thailand, especially in the joint cabinet meeting, the VietNam-Thailand Joint Committee for Bilateral Cooperation, and political consultations between the two foreign ministries.

He applauded and expressed his support for a number of projects and events that will be hosted by the Thai Embassy in the coming time, especially a project to build a hospital for poor people in central Nghe An province, and the Thailand Festival in Viet Nam.

In addition, Viet Nam wants to strengthen ties with Thailand for peace, stability and prosperity, he added.
