Leaders of Shinhan Financial Group and Alliex Company expressed their interests in the areas of intermediate payment, non-cash payment, peer-to-peer lending in Viet Nam. They regarded these areas as important solutions for Viet Nam to develop vigorously in the coming time.

Chairman of Shinhan group expressed the aspiration to become a leading financial group in Viet Nam in the coming time.

In reply, Deputy PM Hue announced that the Vietnamese Government has issued a series of measures to promote new types of payment in Viet Nam with a view to minimizing cash usage; cut time and costs for organizations and people.

Mr. Hue revealed that Viet Nam would select June 16 as the Day for non-cash payment. The Government has assigned relevant agencies to build legal corridor for using telecom accounts and develop bank numbers.

Meanwhile, leaders from KDB and IBK hoped to establish branches in Viet Nam.

In reply, Deputy PM Hue said that the Government has spared no effort to restructure the financial system. Hence by late 2020, the Government would not grant any license for establishment of foreign-invested banks in Viet Nam.

However, the Government leader proposed these banks buy stocks from weak banks in Viet Nam including OceanBank, GPBank andCBank or repurchase a financial company in Viet Nam.

The same day, Deputy PM Hue praised Hyundai infrastructure projects in Viet Nam while receiving Vice Chairman of Hyundai Group Jin Hyng Chung.

He proposed the group to prepare for bids to participate in the North-South Express./.
