Deputy PM receives Google Senior Vice President

VGP – Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue appreciated Google’s goodwill to help develop digital economy through training coding skills for Vietnamese students during his reception for Google Senior Vice President Kent Walker on Tuesday.

Training coding skills is one of the key solutions to realize the Government’s goal of one million effective enterprises by 2020, Hue said.

He expects Google to make greater contribution to the development of an innovation ecosystem in Viet Nam.

The Government of Viet Nam spoke highly of cooperation between Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications and Google in ensuring cybersecyrity and in designing a decree guiding the implementation of the Law on Cybersecurity in order to create a favorable environment for the development of information technology and other sectors, Deputy PM Hue said.

Vice President Kent Walker said Google is taking steps to open a representative office in Viet Nam.

Kent said he feels encouraged with the level of technological application by many Vietnamese startup businesses, saying Google considers Viet Nam as a partner in innovative startups./.
