The working visit of Deputy PM Hue to Switzerland,  one of the four member states of the EFTA (namely Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland), is of significant meaning, serving to accelerate negotiating progress for the Viet Nam-EFTA FTA.

During recent meetings between Deputy PM Hue and Swiss Government and Parliamentary leaders, both sides expressed their aspirations to speed up progress and early conclude the negotiations for their FTA.

“Viet Nam hopes that Switzerland, as an important and leading country in EFTA, will make constructive contribution in favor of a common voice for the two sides to finalize all rounds of negotiation,” said Mr. Hue.

Minister and Head of the Federal Department for Economic Affairs, Education and Research Johann Schneider-Amman affirmed that Switzerland hopes to cement and deepen ties with Viet Nam, a rising country in the Asian Pacific Region.

Minister Johann Schneider-Amman also agreed to speed up the negotiations for the FTA.

Meanwhile, Head of the Economic Affairs and Taxation Committee Susanne Leutenegger Oberholze stressed that the negotiation entered the final round, requiring the two sides to double effort to complete it./.
