Speaking at the event, Politburo member Hue affirmed that Viet Nam-Laos relations have been growing finely, especially after the visit to Laos made by Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong last month.

Expressing his delight to return to Viet Nam after two years, Bouphavanh spoke highly of the country’s strong transformations, stating that the NERI’s visit aims to explore Viet Nam’s experience in renovating State-owned enterprises and building collective economic models and new-style cooperatives, thus contributing to the reforms of Laos’s economic models.

According to the former Lao PM, during its stay in Viet Nam, the NERI will have working sessions with the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission, the Viet Nam Academy of Social Sciences, the Committee for Management of State Capital at Enterprises, and the agencies concerned in order to learn from Viet Nam’s experience in the aforementioned spheres.

Deputy PM Hue affirmed Viet Nam’s willingness to support and share experience with Laos, noting that the Government leaders will direct Vietnamese agencies to not only share the successful experience but also the previous failures so that both sides discuss the application of them in reality.

The Vietnamese official hoped the NERI would be able to refer to a lot of experience suitable to Laos’s socio-economic conditions in order to accelerate the reforms of Laos’s economic models in the future, contributing to further tightening the traditional friendly relations between the two countries.
