September 07, 2017 9:21 AM GMT+7

Minh spoke highly of the outcomes of the Viet Nam-Cuba fourth political consultation at the Deputy Foreign Minister level between the two countries, which, he said, have contributed to strengthening the close and trusted relationship between the two countries and the two Foreign Ministries.

He appreciated the significant achievements attained by Cuban over the past few years, whilst affirming the Vietnamese Party, State and people’s consistent support for the righteous revolutionary cause of the brotherly Cuban people.

On the basis of the Viet Nam-Cuba special relations, the host suggested that both sides accelerate bilateral cooperation in politics, economics, trade and investment in an effective and substantive fashion, in addition to maintaining close collaboration and supporting each other at international organizations, especially the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement.

For his part, Deputy FM Marcelino Medina González voiced his admiration for Viet Nam’s significant Doi Moi achievements in the past 30 years, affirming that the Cuban leaders and people always remember the solidarity and precious support offered by Viet Nam for Cuba’s revolutionary cause so far.

He extended Cuban FM Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla’s invitation to Deputy PM and FM Pham Binh Minh to pay an official visit to Cuba in the near future.

On the occasion, Minh asked the guest to convey his warm greetings and invitation to soon visit Viet Nam to Cuban FM Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla.

Earlier, within the framework of his official visit to Viet Nam from September 4-6, First Deputy FM Marcelino Medina González and Vietnamese Deputy FM Ha Kim Ngoc co-chaired the fourth political consultation at the Deputy Foreign Minister level in Hanoi. The guest also visited the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam, and paid a courtesy visit to Minister of Construction Pham Hong Ha, who is also the co-chair of the Viet Nam-Cuba Intergovernmental Committee, and Tran Dac Loi, Standing Deputy Head of the Commission for External Affairs of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee.
