Deputy PM Phạm Gia Khiêm welcomes US Senator for Virginia

VNGOP – Deputy PM, Foreign Minister Phạm Gia Khiêm gave a cordial reception to the visiting US Democratic Senator for Virginia Jim Webb on July 03 in Hà Nội.

Senator Jim Webb expressed his admiration to Việt Nam's achievements in all fields over the past years. He highly valued State President Nguyễn Minh Triết's official visit to the US in late June and asserted that the visit marked a new development in the Việt Nam-US relationship.

According to the guest, Virginia is one of the states with strengths in education and training in the US, adding that the cooperation between Việt Nam and Virginia in this field has been promoted, with positive results.

Deputy PM Phạm Gia Khiêm showed his delight at these cooperation results and hoped that Việt Nam will be able to deepen the cooperation with Virginia in particular and the US in general in education and training in the time to come.

Talking of the Vietnamese nationals living in the US, Deputy PM Phạm Gia Khiêm emphasized that the Vietnamese Government always considers the Vietnamese community in the US an indispensable part of the Vietnamese nation and provides the most favorable conditions for them to go home and contribute to the national construction. Deputy PM Phạm Gia Khiêm asked Senator Jim Webb to convey this message to the Vietnamese community in the US, including those settling in Virginia.
