He welcomed Kerry’s initiative on renewable and clean energy development in Viet Nam, affirming Vietnamese ministries and agencies will continue to seriously mulling over his proposals.

Viet Nam is now diversifying energy resources in favor of socioeconomic development, thus the country encourages solar and wind power projects and support stronger cooperation with the US in this field, said Deputy PM Hue.

Hue took the occasion to speak highly of the performance of the Fulbright University that Kerry was one of the pioneers to accelerate the idea to establish the university.

Kerry vowed to continue his efforts to further strengthen the bilateral ties, saying he is ready to share experience and support Viet Nam to expand external links to boost renewable and clean energy development.

He extended thanks to the Government of Viet Nam for creating favorable conditions for the operation of the Fulbright University, expressing his belief that it will contribute to high quality human resource development in Viet Nam.

Earlier the same day, Deputy PM Hue came to visit Omni Parker Hotel in Boston, where President Ho Chi Minh had stayed over 100 years ago.

The U.S. is the first leg of Deputy PM Hue’s tour to three countries in the Americas. On July 1, he will leave Boston for two-day official visit to Brazil./.
