Over the past recent years, the Vietnamese IT sector has expanded sharply, leading to bigger demand for IT manpower.

The leading job recruitment website in Viet Nam reported that demand for IT personnel reached its peak in 2016, when 15,000 laborers were recruited.

Vietnamworks forecast that 80,000 IT personnel will join the market in 2017-2018. By late 2018, Viet Nam is likely that it would lack around 70,000 manpower.

The Ministry of Information and Communications reported the sector had over 600,000 personnel, including 300,000 on hardware and electronics. The Ministry also predicted that Viet Nam would seek about 1.2 million IT laborers by 2020./.
