Defense Minister to attend 8th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, pay official visit to China

VGP – Minister of Defense Ngo Xuan Lich is leading a Vietnamese high-level military delegation to take part in the 8th Beijing Xiangshan Forum in Beijing, China from October 24 to 26.

The Minister will deliver a speech at the forum’s first plenary meeting on international security governance. 

The participation in the forum reflects the nation’s proactive and responsible role in international and regional issues and manifest Viet Nam’s viewpoint on security and development issues of regional and international concerns.

After the Beijing Xiangshan Forum, Minister Lich and the Vietnamese delegation will pay an official visit to China from October 26 to 28 at the invitation of Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe.

Within the framework of the official visit, Minister Lich will hold talks with his Chinese counterpart, meet leaders of the Central Military Commission, and pay courtesy calls to a number of Party and Government senior officials.   

The visit aims at enhancing the friendship between Vietnamese and Chinese parties, governments, and armies as well as strengthening political trust, maintaining peaceful and sustainable environment for national development, making contributions to addressing issues at seas through peaceful measures in line with the international regulations. 

The visit also heads to accelerate the implementation of the two defense ministries’ joint vision statement on defense cooperation to 2025.
