DPMs welcome Singaporean, Dutch Ambassadors

VGP – Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh on March 5 hosted receptions for Singaporean Ambassador Ng Teck Hean and Dutch Ambassador Catharina Trooster, respectively.

Welcoming the Singaporean Ambassador, Deputy PM Phuc highly valued the two nations’ Strategic Partnership relations as well as economic cooperation achievements, including two-way trade turnover of US$9.8 billion.

Singapore is the third largest investor in Viet Nam with a total registered capital of US$32.7 billion in 1,300 projects.

Especially, Singapore will start construction of the sixth Viet Nam-Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIP) in the central province of Nghe An and the seventh in the northern province of Hai Duong.

Viet Nam will facilitate VSIP's effective performance in particular and foreign-invested projects', the Deputy PM asserted.

He highlighted the role of the Ambassador in boosting the relations of the two nations and hoped that he will do his utmost to promote the ties in the future.

On the two countries’ relationship, Ambassador Ng Teck Hean expected that it will be upgraded to a higher level.

Receiving Dutch Ambassador Catharina Trooster, Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh applauded the development in the two nations’ relationship, especially after the two sides established the Strategic Partnership on climate change adaption and water management in October 2010 and Strategic Partnership on agriculture and food security in June 2014.

The two nations have closely cooperated at multi-lateral forums and international organizations and accelerated cooperation in terms of energy, ship building, law, trade and investment.

The Deputy PM hoped that during her term of office, the Ambassador will make crucial contribution to the cooperation between the two nations’ ministries and agencies as well as stepping up the relations between Viet Nam and the EU.  

The Ambassador confirmed to strengthen the relations between the two countries and their people.
