He made that statement at his meeting with Lao Minister of Energy and Mines Khammany Inthirath in Ha Noi on February 18.

At the meeting, the Vietnamese leader supposed that energy cooperation is playing a key role, not only bringing economic benefits but also manifesting mutual sharing and support.

Mr. Dung spoke highly of the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and Lao Ministry of Energy and Mines’ active negotiations of contents in the Agreement on the development of hydroelectric, renewable energy and mining projects.

Viet Nam resolutely does not advocate the development of energy projects which affect to the environment, he confirmed.

Lao Minister Khammany Inthirath said that he held working sessions with leaders of the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade, Viet Nam Electricity and the Viet Nam Oil and Gas Group on the implementation of agreements between the two Governments on the development of hydroelectric power projects in Laos and connecting electric systems and purchasing electricity between the two sides.

He affirmed to create favorable conditions for the two sides’ enterprises to enhance close and effective cooperation in the future, especially in energy and mining.
