DPM to attend WEF on East Asia 2015

VGP - Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc will lead a Vietnamese delegation to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) on East Asia 2015, to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia from April 19-21.

Themed “Anchoring Trust in East Asia's New Regionalism”, this year’s event will focus on possible solutions to cope with social challenges; the formation of the ASEAN Community and its impact on regional economic growth; orientation to deal with the 10 global challenges utilizing multilateral cooperation and public-private partnership.

Deputy PM Phuc will join discussions on regional and international socio-economic issues such as regional integration and connectivity, the role and impacts of the ASEAN Economic Community, regional and international economic development trends, which will help promote economic ties between Viet Nam and other countries.

He is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with senior officials from some countries, international organization and economic groups.

According to the organizing board, over 700 delegates from 40 countries including 40 ministers and representatives from international organizations alongside 180 CEOs and presidents of major world conglomerates will take part in the three-day event.

The WEF is the international institution committed to improving the state of the world through public-private cooperation.

Every year regional meetings take place in Africa, East Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East in a bid to intensify and expand relation, economic- business cooperation among regional countries and between respective regions to other areas in the world.-VNA
