Deputy PM Minh asserted that Viet Nam attaches importance to the comprehensive partnership with the U.S., especially in trade and investment. The two-way trade turnover was estimated at US$ 60 billion in 2018, bringing practical benefits for the two sides.

Viet Nam advocates the development of independent, self-reliant and open economic and investment ties with foreign countries and creates favorable ways for foreign investors in general and U.S. partners in particular.

According to the Deputy PM, Viet Nam has already signed and is about to ink bilateral and multilateral free trade agreements including the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) which took place in January 1, 2019.

Hence, he hoped that Albright Stonebridge Group would continue to provide consultations for U.S. enterprises to expand their footholds in Viet Nam.

The Foreign Investment Agency (FIA) reported that the U.S. ranked 11th out of foreign countries doing business in Viet Nam with about 900 effective projects worth nearly US$ 10 billion.

In reply, the former Commerce Secretary expressed his impression at the fast and comprehensive developments in Viet Nam especially the dynamic economy and modern infrastructure.

The guest leader also expressed the aspiration to serve for the bilateral ties./.
