The two sides reviewed the Viet Nam-Spain Strategic Partnership relations over the recent years.

The two-way trade turnover in 2016 reached US$2.9 billion, Deputy PM Minh said, proposing enhancing relationship in all areas, especially politics, economics, trade and investment, and asserting that the Vietnamese Government will facilitate the Spanish businesses to successfully launch operation in Viet Nam.

The Deputy PM suggested the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs closely coordinate in organizing activities to celebrate the 40thanniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties in 2017, creating an impetus for promoting the two sides’ relations more effectively and realistically for the benefits of their people.

The Spanish State Secretary affirmed that Spain advocates the settlement of disputes in the East Sea with peaceful measures in lines with the international law and standards, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982 and the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC).

The meeting was organized on the sidelines of the fourth Deputy-Ministerial political dialogue.
